So my wife and I are taking this religion class at BYU - Idaho and for a project we decided to make and maintain some blogs about the importance of the family and marriage. For the last few days I have been trying to figure out what I wanted to talk about and what I wanted to name my blog. Everything that I could come up with on my own just wasn't right. Jokingly she said, "You should name it, My wife is beautiful and smart and wonderful and funny and the best." And then it dawned on me, "I should call it, My Wife is..." And that is what I am going to do. I love my wife and she is such an inspiration to me so why not share that along with some beliefs that we hold together so you can see just what makes us so happy.
My wife is so hardworking! And I will tell you why I think that.
Every morning we reluctantly get up at 6:00 A.M. to get ready for the day and to drive a half hour to be in Rexburg before 7:45. Neither of us are really morning people but our schedules kind of force us to be. After quick showers, we try to make a quick breakfast that we can eat in the car and then pack a lunch to eat together before my afternoon class. Alex (thats my wife's name) always has an alarm for us so that we leave on time since we both hate being late for anything. Usually our lunches consist of leftovers from the night before or a large meal that we prepared the Sunday before. She always seems to say that I always make the food but really it is her that made it, I just repackage it occasionally for that day.
We arrive in Rexburg with a little time to check on her plants in the greenhouse and then walk to the Ricks building. She always waits for me outside of my class before hers starts at 9:00. Although she doesn't have a 7:45 A.M. class, she is always working on homework while I am in class. Whenever I get out of class early I find her deep in her studies, trying her best to absorb the material that she needs to learn to succeed in her classes.
After my last class in the afternoon we head back to Idaho Falls to our jobs. Alex works at a nursery not far from where we live and I work at new home decor store in the middle of Idaho Falls. Every night when we talk about what we did that day at work she tells me about how she moved a bunch of 30 to 40 pound bags of fertilizer or potatoes or priced hundreds of plants or a combination of those things. She comes home tired but happy which is all I can ask for. My work on the other hand is not as strenuous or even as busy as hers. I usually spend my time at a register, waiting for people to come and be checked out. It's not exactly a job that requires a lot of hard work unlike my wife's. At times I envy my wife's job, it's fulfilling and gives her a sense of accomplishment. She works 5 days a week at this job, including all day Tuesdays and Saturdays, and still maintains good grades in all of her classes.
Even when we were first dating, she was always working and I was just looking for a job while attending my first semester of college. Somehow we managed to get all of homework done before the weekend so we could spend time together. What an example of hard work she has been to me even before we were married and had hectic schedules. Without us working together and working towards common goals, we would not be in the same position we are in today. Not every day is easy but it has been worth it every single day because if we continue to work hard at our relationship, our marriage can last through the eternities. I love my wife very much and appreciate all of the hard work that she puts in and I hope that one day I can work just as hard for her as she does for me. She is the best!
