My Wife is Spiritually Independent

The last few weeks I have talked about obvious aspects of my wife but this week I wanted to talk about something a little more important but at the same time, subtle.

My wife is spiritually independent. Now many of you may be wondering what I mean when I say that. Being spiritually independent means that she doesn't need other people to motivate her to do the spiritual things. My wife doesn't rely on having friends in church in order for her to go. In fact my wife and I don't to church for the social aspect at all. We only go because we know that is where we know we need to be. When we attend church we know that we are attending to renew our covenants with our Heavenly Father and that is the sole reason that motivates us to go.

When we are going to bed she never complains about praying or reading scriptures. This is such an example to me because there are days that I just don't want to read scriptures and go to sleep but she is always kind about reminding me that we need to read at least a few verses.

I know that I am supposed to be the spiritual leader of our family but it is a comfort to know that if I am slacking, she will be right there to help me back up and to do what I am supposed to do.
